SPLOG REPORTER ADDS NEW FEATURE AND IMPROVES USABILITY Adds import list feature and simplifies splog reporting flow
Blogosphere: September 18, 2005—In its continued efforts to improve the splog-reporting process and the user experience, Splog Reporter today announced the release of a bulk-import list feature and the simplification of its splog-reporting user requirements.
The bulk-import list feature, which was highly requested among Splog Reporter’s users, allows users to easily upload of a list of potential splog URLs to optimize their personal blog searches. Currently, the .csv file, or comma-delimited file, is Splog Reporter’s standard file format as it is common to most database programs.
Splog Reporter also streamlined its most basic splog-reporting requirements. Users will no longer be required to submit any personal or supplemental information other than the splog URL in question.
“After analyzing the data for the past month, we found that the user information we were collecting was irrelevant and only hindered the flow of the splog reporting process,” said Jeff Johns, site developer and co-manager of Splog Reporter. “The recent changes further streamline reporting splog into a one-click process, even for our newest splog reporters.”
The simplification of Splog Reporter’s submission process is fully compatible with the previously released bookmarklet and Firefox browser extension, both of which allow users to report splog directly from their current browsers without being redirected to the website form.
“Splog Reporter is dedicated to improvements that benefit its users. Responsive updates on our part increase functionality and simplify the process,” said Frank Gruber, creator and co-manager or Splog Reporter. “These changes allow our users even more ease in contributing to our mission of collecting, reporting and ultimately reducing the amount of splog in the blogosphere.”
