SPLOG REPORTER’S NEW LOOK BRIDGES EFFICIENCY WITH AESTHETICS Site Developer Jeff Johns Added to Splog Reporter Team
Blogosphere: Aug. 21, 2005—The recently established Splog Reporter today received its first update, an aesthetic overhaul complete with increased functionality and efficiency. Improvements include a contributor ranking system, a report confirmation feature, and updates on the site’s look and feel.
The most practical addition in the new upgrade is the “bookmarklet” option, a feature designed with the user’s interest in mind. Through bookmarklets, a user can establish an icon on his or her toolbar and report splog in a one-click process. Information will automatically be submitted to Splog Reporter’s data without the nuisance of multiple entry submissions.
“Due to the immediate, positive response Splog Reporter received, we were able to anticipate the needs of our contributors and add features that will improve their experience in the blogosphere,” said Frank Gruber, creator of Splog Reporter.
Jeff Johns joined Splog Reporter on Aug. 19, and was an integral part in the implementation of the upgrades. Johns brings extensive development knowledge and enthusiasm for making the blogosphere a better place for everyone.
“Hopefully these additions will allow our users to more readily contribute to our mission of reporting, and ultimately reducing, the amount of splog that currently clutters our operating environment,” said Johns.
